With all the given name oils:
Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Tree Oil, Coconut Oil just to name a few…
Argan oil has really became a popular product for haircare at the moment (I was late to the trend obviously) —
Moroccan oil is probably the most well-known product name with that being said..whats the hype?
According to some research (a little googling)..there isnt a difference between the two…they are the same.
(see the insert below )
Argan Oil is derived from the Argan Nut. Argan trees are chiefly found in Morocco. For this reason, Argan Oil is sometimes called Moroccan Oil, but they are one in the same. Organic Argan Oil is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids like linoleic acid (omega 6). Fatty acids help protect our hair and repair and add shine. Vitamin E (Tocophorol) helps add moisture into the hair and helps to heal the hair while neutralizing free radicals.
Moroccan Oil comes from the Argan Tree, which is found in Morocco. This oil therefore has two interchangeable names: one for the tree, Argan, and one for the place, Morocco.
So there you have it…its no difference. Companies are just seperating the two to make more profit.
